Lindi Kathleen Scholtz is an artist living in Cape Town. During her secondary school career spent at Die Kruin, an Afrikaans Art School in Johannesburg, Scholtz majored in painting and design, and has always been drawn to the use of vibrant colours. She shows a particular affinity towards portrait work and has worked with various mediums, but is ultimately drawn to acrylics. Fascinated by comic book art from the 1960s, she takes a nostalgic stand in her pursuit to bring back a reconstructed version of pop art with all its controversial, colourful, feel-good appeal. Thought provoking, simplistic, playful, even humouristic at times, it doesn’t fail to catch attention and draw out conversation.
